Page seven and a half.

A Post Between Posts.

I guess it’s no secret that my posts can be somewhat… grim serious captivating.. So, I decided that I should do something a little less thought provoking, between my weekly posts. Whilst reading through a long list of blogs, I stumbled across something called ‘Handwriting,’ on Ms. Morgan’s blog, Caution! Reality Check. It seems to have been around the universe of blogging for some time now, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it, so figured I would give it a go.

And here is, due to repeated mistakes, my fourteenth attempt!

The idea is pretty simple – in your own handwriting, answer the following questions:

  1. What is your name / your Blogger name?
  2. What is your blog’s name / URL?
  3. Write “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”
  4. Your favourite quote?
  5. Your favourite song?
  6. Your favourite band / singers?
  7.  Anything else you want to say?
  8. Tag 3-5 other people.

*Apologies for the colour of the ink!*

Now, the main reason I wrote this ‘post between posts,’ was to make sure that my posts are up to date with the ACTA situation – the follow up of PIPA and SOPA. (The guy in charge of naming these organisations really needs to get shot. No, that's not harsh.)

Upon reading Dreadnaught’s blog, ‘Some things you may find interesting,’ I learned of ‘Black March. Many of us have been posting about how action must be taken against ACTA, and how they should be taken down – Black March is that action. It will allow us to spread the word and increase awareness.

In short, Black March is a month-long boycott protest. From 1st – 31st March, we do not invest in anything that would all them to gain profits. After all, it does all comes down to money. And greed.

If you are unsure of what ACTA actually is, I highly recommend watching this video.

Oh and before I forget – Mark, from The Rambling Person, posted a link to a petition on his blog, that opposes ACTA.

  1. I just started following Dreadnaught and I'm glad I did. The more information we have the better off we are. And using the internet to communicate and coordinate is somehow fitting. I have not trouble with boycotting. These days, your dollar, pound or euro has more power than your vote. If we as consumers band together we become a powerful force. They will listen to us if we close our wallets.

    1. Yeah the best thing to do right now is just spread the word.

    2. Exactly..we just need to keep up to date with everything. Especially since SOPA/PIPA/ACTA keep changing their damn names!

  2. my handwriting is virtually illegible. I'm all for Black March, but like others have said we need to spread the word. I'm a little concerned, at least in the US, that there will be less of a response after the huge one for the SOPA blackout day.

    1. To be honest, I'm concerned of a lesser response for it all, including Black March. I can see it as something that people just say they will do..and half an hour later, they're in the queue for popcorn, at the movies!

  3. I'm all up for both really. I would like to show off my cursive handwriting which is quite unique. And I have also signed the petition, but I don't have much power as a lone student, a high school one at that. Also, my friends have got bigger issues than internet censorship, or so they tell me.

  4. Ahh it's a difficult one at high school..! I guess you should just do as much as you can - Black March or not, be sure to spread the word!

    1. Yeah, at this moment, I guess our main concern is to spread the word and make sure everyone actually knows what is happening.

  7. love the depth and meaning of your profile text and the subtitle of your blog. Although I have a showbizz site, I also try to fight for certain causes such as promoting love and positivity on film instead of dark violence and mindless gorefests. It's a lonesome battle..

    1. Thank you! And I hear you..I mean, I'm not big on horrors and films like that - they always seem to lack meaning..and, well, a storyline! I love a good film..not necessarily a positive one..but something that leaves you thinking.

    1. Brian Cox is the most beautiful man on the planet right now. He's a professor at my University too! Unfortunately, I've never met him. I did consider switching to Physics, just so I could meet him :P

And that's a brilliant quote..gotta love a bit of Prodigy!

  18. When will the powers that be stop trying to erode freedoms? Probably never because they fear freedom as it threatens their power. Sigh. I'm depressed...sorry, captivated again. Signed the petition.

    1. Don't be depressed..We can fight this! But you are right, this greed for money and hunger for power - freedom shouldn't come second to these things.
